Ocean Park

7:47 AM Unknown 0 Comments

So seeing as how i am a complete loner out here in Hong Kong, I had no exciting Halloween party to attend. But i did, however, do one better: I went to Ocean Park. I mean what screams Halloween more than haunted houses and zombies and ghosts. Unfortunately, I wasn't as cool as others and had no costume. Sad face. But my sister and her friends (yep i hung out little high school kids) were cool and dressed up. My favorite was Byrant, (blog here) who was "the devil wears prada". He was going to wear his Prada shoes (to an amusement park I might add) but decided to just settle with Prada glasses. #fashionistaproblems.
The haunted houses were pretty good, if i was allowed to I would have tired to snap a few shots. There were a few epic things like this ghost FLYING/jumping out at you, whom I fived whilst screaming. That is multi-tasking right there. There was also like a butcher house area that was quite scary, having fake rubber pigs slap you around is not my idea of a good time.

The day was mostly for my sister's friends and her to hang out, I pretty much just tagged along.

Stanley Bay

10:17 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Luckily yesterday my parents had the day off and we decided to venture off to Stanley Bay and Stanley Market. It had been such a long time since I've been able to just go out and enjoy the day with my family (sorry Joseph) and I had almost forgotten how much fun we have when we're all together. The place was filled with adorable delis, cafes, dogs, and skaters. All of which i happily welcome as a part of my day.

This building is pretty awesome, it was taken (in its entirety), basically plucked from Central, and placed by Stanley Bay. I am not sure how they did this, i would imagine a massive boat of some sort. Because they did not rebuild it, they just picked it up and plopped it down somewhere new.

Red Lipstick and Male Model

10:41 AM Unknown 0 Comments

After enlisting for classes online, my day started rather horrendously. I decided the only thing that could possible cheer me up would be slapping on some red lipstick and finding male models in the Abercrombie & Fitch (not shallow at all).

After objectifying the male models at A&F, my sister and i decided to just stroll around Central and shop/eat gelato. And while we are on the topic of food, i just need to note that it is such an amazing feeling to be able to eat three meals a day again, PLUS snacks whenever i want. I forgot what living with parents felt like. I can feel the pounds piling on, but there are zero complaints coming from me. I spoiled myself and went for a large Berry Overload at Holly Brown. It kinda felt like i died and went to heaven. Just a little bit. But i do imagine heaven having a snack bar full of this stuff.
Nothing significantly happened today, but already it feels like i'm home, with my family. Hong Kong is such a busy city with constant hustle, which makes me feel right at home.
Outfit of the day. :)

i want to go to the seaside

5:28 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
I handled my charm with time and sleight of hand
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_kooks/seaside.html ]
Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
I fell in love at the seaside
She handled her charm with time and sleight of hand, and oh

But I'm just trying to love you
Any kind of way
But I find it hard to love you girl
When you're far away
Away

Do you want to go to the seaside?
I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go
But I fell in love on the seaside
On the seaside
In the seaside

this little frame was taken by an adorable little juice box.

i am a little church

12:19 PM Unknown 0 Comments

i am a little church(no great cathedral)
far from the splendor and squalor of hurrying cities
-i do not worry if briefer days grow briefest,
i am not sorry when sun and rain make april
my life is the life of the reaper and the sower;
my prayers are prayers of earth's own clumsily striving
(finding and losing and laughing and crying)children
whose any sadness or joy is my grief or my gladness
around me surges a miracle of unceasing
birth and glory and death and resurrection:
over my sleeping self float flaming symbols
of hope, and i wake to a perfect patience of mountains
i am a little church(far from the frantic
world with its rapture and anguish)at peace with nature
-i do not worry if longer nights grow longest;
i am not sorry when silence becomes singing
winter by spring,i lift my diminutive spire to
merciful Him Whose only now is forever:
standing erect in the deathless truth of His presence
(welcoming humbly His light and proudly His darkness)
~ e.e.cummings ~

I think this is a fantastic reminder to always humble ourselves. The first time i read this I took such a liking to it that i decided i wanted a tattoo of the first line. I think it speaks so true to always knowing that we are but a small speck in this great world that God created.

strange.

strange

When everyone was doing drugs,
we were just doing love
A stranger said you’re strange like me

Ana, our dreams are coming true

Don’t tell me that a day will come
when we dress like everyone
‘cuz I can tell you’re strange like me

Don’t say the hour’s growing late
Don’t say we should be going straight
‘cuz I can tell you’re strange like me

And dreams can still come true,
and it’s coming true for you

I had the most fantastic time watching/dancing to Pains of Being Pure At Heart with Bea, Dani, and Abe. The music was good, the company was even better (if possible), and the beer and food was overpriced. Is there any better way to spend a Wednesday night? I think not.

They say 3's a charm (note that the third shot is with Kip Berman, my potential lover), so i will end this post with my three favorite instax from the night::

Who Cares?

To those who read my previous post (aka Grace Spaulding), you’d know that i posted a little piece of art that caught my eye on my way to school. That, however, is not the only graffiti that has caught my eye, so i have decided to carry around my mini instax pretty much where ever i go so that i don’t miss being able to capture something that i enjoy. You never know when something could strike your fancy. Before you get too excited, i am pretty easily amused, but nonetheless i think art is worth sharing, whatever form it may be in.

PLEASE DON'T EAT ME!!!

5:30 AM Unknown 0 Comments

I pass this almost everyday on my way to school, on an overpass. I love it because its art that has a message. So, as strange as i looked bending over to take a photo of the ground, i took a photo because its cute and yet meaningful.

If you guys don’t know, shark fin is a big food industry in China and basically any country with a large Chinese community. However, it is incredibly inhumane. In order to get shark’s fin, fishermen catch sharks, then cut off their fins and throw them back into the ocean. As a result they die because they can’t swim and from losing too much blood. It’s terribly tragic. :(
